Honesty is INDEED the best policy

Sooooooo, recently, I have been trying to be more honest. And, I LIKE IT! I got so sick and tired of lying to people and making up excuses because I could tell that they could see right through them Maybe not all the time, but I knew when they knew I was lying, SO. I decided to start telling people the truth. And it's done wonders.
I was thinking one day...what separates ¨family¨ and ¨friends¨? Well, honesty. Family is not afraid to give their opinion, tell you how bad that outfit looks on you, tell you if you have a booger hangin' out of your nose, tell you if your bon door is open; however, friends, don't always tell you those things. You'll ask em a question and they'll tell you what you want to hear, instead of what they actually think, and myself included. I mean, not everybody, but you know. So I decided to not be friends with anyone, instead I'll be more like family, I value having close relationships with people, To me it's more worth it. What's the point of just being friends with someone, why not make everyone feel like family?
However, you do have to be careful. Obviously. I mean your not gonna go tell an intense biker dude that's like 300 pounds with more muscly friends, that his jacket's ugly. Duh. Get to know a person...be their friend, but make sure you don't stop there. Be more than a friend, be a brother, be a sister, keep developing your relationship. At least that's what I tell myself.
So now when people ask me if I want to do something and I don't want to do it, I tell them. As long as the person your friends with doesn't hold grudges or get offended easily you should be fine. I mean use your judgement. Be gentle about it. But I decided, there's no sense in lying anymore, it always made me feel bad about myself and I always had sort of a fake relationship with some people. But no more! I honestly feel honest when I am honest. And I like being honest, honestly. haha.
