A familiar phrase caught me in an unexpected way today. The phrase, "To be like God", is one I have heard a countless number of times and was one that I had followed in times past. For reasons unknown it sounded a little odd this time.
"To be like God", sounds a little vain doesn't it? I could almost picture the devil himself saying it before he got kicked out of heaven.
One can never achieve the desire to be like God, and woe to him that tries; for we are but humans. It is not for us to place ourselves above another for we are no better than our fellow. Do not disdain your neighbor, for you are as human as them.
It is not with condemnation that I write, but as a reminder. God is God, you are you, you need Him to make it through.
